Which facial treatment is right for your skin?

5-minute read Hi Beauty Helmond

Is your bathroom cabinet full of products, but your skin isn't behaving the way you want it to? Chances are you're caring for your skin based on how it feels rather than on what it actually needs. Here's how to identify your skin type—and the right treatment for it.

Step 1: Recognize what your skin is telling you

Tight, dull, or flaky?

Your skin is lacking moisture or oil—often both. Dry or dehydrated skin needs a moisturizing treatment that restores the skin barrier, not yet another scrub that further strips the skin.

Shiny with impurities?

Oily skin or skin with clogged pores benefits from a deep cleanse. Clogged pores are expertly unclogged, sebum production is balanced, and your skin can breathe again—without the harsh approach that actually makes things worse.

First fine lines or loss of firmness?

Starting around age 30, your skin produces less collagen. Treatments that stimulate cell renewal give your skin the boost it can no longer generate on its own.

Quick to turn red and reactive?

Sensitive skin needs soothing: gentle products, barrier repair, and—above all—don’t use too many products at once. This is precisely where professional advice makes the difference between improvement and worsening.

"The best treatment isn't the most popular one—it's the one that suits your skin's needs today."

Step 2: Always start with a skin analysis

At Hi Beauty, we start every skin treatment with an analysis. We examine your skin, discuss your routine and your goals, and develop a plan based on that. Sometimes it’s a single treatment; sometimes it’s a short course of treatments. Whatever it ends up being, we’ll give you honest advice on what works—and what you can leave at home.

Home Tip

More than half of the skin concerns we see improve with just three basics: gentle cleansing, daily moisturizing, and SPF every single day. Start there—before you buy any new products.

How often should you get a facial?

For maintenance, every 4 to 6 weeks is ideal—that aligns with your skin’s natural renewal cycle. If you’re working toward a specific goal, such as treating blemishes or pigmentation, we’ll schedule sessions closer together at first and then space them out as time goes on.
